The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time

Finding the key at the Treasure Box Shop:
Go to the Treasure Box Shop in the Market at night as a child. Talk to the man to get the first key, then use the Lens of Truth to learn which box contains the key.

Free key in the Gerudo Training Grounds:
Go into the lava room in which you must collect silver rupees in the Gerudo Training Grounds. Stand on the first platform and use the Song Of Time. You can jump to the two time blocks and grab the key above. If you keep going ahead, you will find the key room where you open the locked doors. You will find three treasure chests there. Do not open the door to the left. Only go to the right when you enter the key room in the entrance of the training ground. Note: Once you go back into the lava room, you will have to retrieve all the rupees you collected earlier. This is also another way to go through the room with only a hookshot.

Link's records:
Look to the left of Links bed and press A. You can read all of Link's records that he accomplishes through the game.

Kill the rolling Goron:
To kill the giant rolling Goron in Goron City, bomb him about ten times. After the ninth bombing, he will grunt and the other Goron's will run out to kill you. Note: The rolling Goron can not be killed if the bomb bag has already been obtained from him,

Finding Saria:
When finding Saria, go to the Lost Woods and move in the following directions: Right, Left, Right , Left, Center, Left, Right.

Fairy fountain locations:

After getting the Goron's Bracelet and the Bomb Bag, search Hyrule Field for suspicious looking boulders for a fairy fountain.
In the same tomb where a Hylian Shield is found, destroy the wall to find a fairy fountain.
On the way to Zora's Domain, move along the green shores of Zora'a River. Bomb a boulder at this location to discover a fairy fountain beneath it.
When leaving the Sacred Forest meadow, a ladder will appear on a hedge. This leads to a clearing that contains a boulder. A fairy fountain is under the boulder.
In the watery paradise of Zora's Domain, play the Song of Storms to open a hole in a platform. The hole leads to a fountain below.
In the dry desert after playing the Song of Storms, a hole will open up in the ground that will lead to a fairy fountain.

Great fairy locations:

Great fairy of power:
This Great fairy gives Link the "spin slash" attack. She is located at Death Mountain, outside the crater to the left of the entrance, behind a bomb-able wall.
Great fairy of wisdom:
This Great fairy doubles Link's magic meter. She is located inside the Death Mountain crater. Face the entrance to Goron City (inside the crater). A bridge will be to the right. Use the Megaton Hammer (obtained after passing the Fire Temple) to destroy the rocks blocking the entrance. Bombs will have no effect.
Great fairy of courage:
This Great fairy doubles adult Link's defensive powers. She is located near Ganon's castle. Obtain the Golden Gauntlets inside Ganon's castle. Use them to lift the column that is blocking the entrance, which is to the right, when facing Ganon's tower.
Great fairy of magic:
This Great fairy is located at the same spot as the Great fairy of courage when Link is a child. Use a bomb to open the entrance. She will give Link a new spell, "Din's Fire".
Great fairy of magic:
She is located behind Zora's fountain, when Link is a kid. Move all the way behind the fountain to find a piece of land. Then, destroy the wall behind it. She will give Link a new spell, "Ferore's Wind".
Great fairy of magic:
This great fairy is located between the two palm trees at the desert colossus. Use a bomb at the crack on the wall. She will give Link the "Nayru's Love" spell.

Big Poe locations:
Big Poe locations are signified by a little Poe appearing when you are not on a horse. Their locations are as follows:

Sign in front of Hyrule Castle.
Overhang near Kakariko entrence.
Bush near northwest of field.
Tree in front of Lon Lon ranch.
Tree in southeast of field.
Choppable bushes near southeast of field.
Big gray rock.
Y-shaped intersection near where field turns into Gerudo terrain.
V-shaped wall near Lon Lon ranch.
Tree near Gerudo.

Great view of Zora's fountain with Gold Skulltula:
Note: The Silver Gauntlets and Lens Of Truth are required for this trick. Go to where Link received "Ferore's Wind" at Zora's fountain, at night. Life the rock in the middle using the sliver gauntlets. Fall down the hole, then put on the Lens Of Truth and kill the Skulltulas. Climb up the ladder and kill the Gold Skulltula. Look over the ledge to see a great view of Zora's fountain

Extra bombs or arrows:
Go to the Pond Of Happiness in the lower right corner of the map and throw in rupees until a fairy appears. She will ask if you want to carry more bombs or arrows. Select which ever you prefer, as you can repeat this until up to 50 bombs and 70 arrows are accumulated. Note :A large number rupees are required.

Finding a bag that holds 40 seeds:
Go to the Lost Woods. After entering, turn right and continue forward to a ledge with a fence and ladder to the left. A metal circular object will be suspended from a tree at this location. Shoot it three times exactly in the center with the slingshot and to receive the bag. A "100" will flash when your shot hits the center. You must score "100" three times in a row.

Defeating Dark Link:
During the battle with the Dark Link in the Water Temple, press Z to lock on to him, then press Forward and B to jab at him until he is defeated.

The best way to kill Dark Link is with the Megaton Hammer. When you enter the room, go to the far end and turn around. Dark Link will be waiting. When the battle starts, do not lock onto him. Instead, equip the Megaton Hammer. Use the Megaton Hammer when Dark Link is close during the battle.

An alternate strategy is to get close to him and use Din's Fire until he is defeated.

The absolute fastest way to kill Dark Link is to use the jabbing method (lock on to him, then press Forward and B) continuously while using the Biggoron's Sword. If done correctly and fast enough, he will die before he starts attacking Link.

Defeating Ganon:
Note: The following strategy is for defeating "Ganon" the Monster, not "Ganondorf the Great King of Evil". Equip the Megaton Hammer then run at Ganon. When he raises his arm to slice you or hit you with his sword, immediately roll between his legs. Then Z-lock his tail and use the jump attack. This strategy works when you get the Master Sword back from past the Ring Of Fire.

Defeating Ganondorf:
When Ganondorf creates a gap on the floor when you are fighting him, do not jump it and lose valuable hitting time. Instead, before entering the room with Ganondofr, equip the Hover Boots. Then, when he is down on the floor after playing "Tennis" with him, fly across using your hover boots and swing your sword at him. Doing this saves valuable time and it is quicker and easier then jumping across and waiting for Link to land.

Make sure you have the Longshot and Light Arrows equipped. Three bottled fairies are not required, but they can be very useful. Big fairies are also useful, because they can restore your magic. When you reach the room where Ganondorf plays the organ, move to a far corner after he talks to you. While at that location, deflect his shots with the Master Sword. When he is hit, shoot him with a Light Arrow. He can now be targeted. Do so, then use the Longshot to reach him quickly to hit him with the Master Sword. As soon as he gets up again, move back to the corner. If you run low on magic, go to the lower level and break the bottles for more.

Deflecting Ganondorf's attacks:
The sword, Megaton Hammer, or bottles can be used to deflict Ganondorf's fireballs.

After deflecting Ganondorf's small lightning balls a few times (and weakening him), he will power-up a gigantic lightning orb. He will throw it, and several small ones will fly in all directions toward you. There will be no way to deflect all of them, so you are most likely to get hit with five or six of them if you run. To deflect all of them back to Ganondorf, you will have to charge up for a magic sword spin attack. It takes timing, just like for the smaller orbs. It is a fairly easy task to most players. It would also be wise to use the Biggoron sword to do more damage.

Defeating Dodongo:
To defeat Dodongo in Dodongo's cavern, throw a bomb in his mouth, then strike him with your sword. Repeat this three or four times.

Defeating Bongo Bongo:
Get the Biggoron's sword and the Eye Of Truth so you can see him. First, hit his hands with arrows (you may still keep the Eye Of Truth on). Then hit his eye ball to stun him. Slash violently and repeat these step. Z target his hands, then shoot your arrows.

Defeating Iron Knuckles:
An easier way to defeat the Iron knuckles (big enemies with big axes) is to first target him. Then, just as he swings, do a back flip. Then do a lunge attack as he finishes his swing. If he does a double swing, just wait for him to finish his second swing, and quickly do a lunge attack. If you get hit, try to lure him to hit a pillar or his chair. If he hits the chair or pillar, then hearts will appear. The only Iron Knuckle on which this strategy will work on is the one faced before the two witch sisters.

Getting heart piece above Dodongo's cavern as a child:
Go up to where the bomb flower used for opening the cavern is located. Throw the bomb flower somewhere so you can use Z-targeting. Then, hold back on the Analog-stick and do a back flip. If done properly, you should land on the mesa-type platform. Although you will lose hearts from the fall, you will regain them when the heart piece is in Link's hands.

Finding the Giant's Knife:
Go to Goron City as young Link. On one of the floors is a wall that appears questionable. Blow it up, then keep destroying the other walls behind it. Talk to the big may to learn that he is working on a weapon. Return as older Link to receive the Giant's Knife. Note: It will break with about five swings.

Getting Gold Skulltulas:
Capture a bug in a bottle and drop them on some soft soil, where Link would put some Magic Beans. A Gold Skulltula will appear. Kill it and get your new found token. This works on all of them except the soft soil spot right next to the man that sells the Magic Beans.

Unlimited Skulltulas:
Go outside Hyrule Castle as young Link to where Talon is met. There will be a tree at that location. Play The Song of Storms and a grotto will appear. Enter the grotto, destroy the walls with a bomb, and kill the Skullata. Use the boomerang to get the token while doing a back flip to escape. Keep repeating this to get unlimited skullatas. Note: If done incorrectly. reset game and try again.

The boomerang is required for the following trick. Go to the hole in the ground by Lon Lon Ranch where a Skulltulla can be found. Go down and kill the Skulltula, but do not collect the coin right away. Use the boomerang to get the Skulltula, and before you get the boomerang back to you, backflip into the warp portal. If done correctly, the screen will blank will display "You got" without finishing the sentence. Repeat this to collect over 100 coins.

Getting the Biggest Quiver:
Enter the archery game as an adult after getting the Gerudo Membership Card. It costs 20 rupees to play, but is worth it. Play the first time and get 1,000 points and to receive a Heart Container. Play the game a second time and get 1,500 points and to receive the Biggest Quiver, which holds up to fifty arrows. When starting the archery game, aim for the bulls-eye and fire to get 100 points each time. Also shoot at the target at the end. When you come around the end target, aim for the clay jars. Shoot them to collect 100 points per jar. Keep getting 100's on the targets and successfully shoot all the clay jars to get the required 1,500 points for the Biggest Quiver.

Trading all the masks:

Fox Mask
Royal Guard at the edge of Kakariko Village on the way up to Death Mountain.
Skull Mask
In the Lost Forest. Enter the forest and move to the left. Hop on the tree stump while wearing the mask and play Saria's Song. The Skull Kid will then ask Link for the mask.
Spooky Mask
Sell it to the boy in the Graveyard in Kakariko Village.
Bunny Mask
Sell it to the man running around in the Hyrule Field by Lon Lon Ranch. You must first beat the Forest Temple as Adult Link and then travel back in time to find the jogger.
Mask of Truth
With this mask Link can talk to the "Gossip Stones" that have the eye on them. They will reveal helpful hints throughout the game.

Illegal fishing lure (sinking lure):
Use the following steps to get a better fishing lure that can catch more fish. As an adult, walk to the log that is sticking out in the pond. Walk around on it awhile to find a sinking lure, that can catch fish almost every time. Note: The lure may only be used once, and if used to catch a record weight fish, the counterman will not give Link a prize. The sign on the tank will also be marked with "With illegal fishing lure".

Catching big fish:
Cast at the logs or sticks in the water. You can catch a 22 lb. fish at those locations.

Hidden pictures:
Go to where Zelda is met for the first time. Look into the window on her left, as you enter. Pictures of Yoshi, Princess Toadstool, Mario, Bowser and Luigi can be seen. Look from different angles to see them all. Throw something into the window with Mario to receive 20 rupees. Throwing something into the other window will result in a lit bomb being thrown back at Link.

Star Wars cameo:
Go into the Bombchu Bowling Alley in the market as child Link. Press C-Up to switch to the first-person look-around view. Look at the music machine of the bowling alley to see that R2D2 has found an interesting job.

Breaking open boxes:
To break open a regular brown wooden box, just run at it and press A. Link will roll and smash open the box. This is useful when finding all the chickens and to get a Skulltula in the Marketplace room with the pots.

The chicken game:
When at Lon Lon Ranch, go visit Talon, the character you woke up before at Hyrule Castle. Accept his offer when he asks if you want to play a chicken game. To catch the three chickens, move to the corners of the room and just start grabbing all the chickens. It helps if you watch where at least one of them lands, to capture one quickly. As a reward for completing the game, Link will receive a bottle of milk which restores five hearts to his health.

To capture the chickens easily, pick up all the chickens before talking to Talon. Place the chickens in the corner between the table, the stairs, and Talon. They will stay there and allow Link to find the super chickens without the other chickens wandering around.

Hat lure:
Go to the fishing pond as an adult. The owner will now be wearing a hat. Cast at him and to steal his hat. Do not give it back and you can use it as a lure. He will charge you for it when it is used.

Go to the fishing game at Lake Hylia, and cast the rod at the man at the counter. If you catch his hat, get the sinking lure (as explained in the "Illegal fishing lure (sinking lure)" hint. The hat will disappear and the man will never have it again. Note: This will not work if the sinking lure has already been collected.

Hatless man at the pond:
Get very close to the man at the fishing pond and cast your line. It may take a couple of tries, but if you aim correctly you can steal his hat. If you can spare thirty rupees, walk out into the middle of the pond with the Iron Boots. Cast a few times, and his hat will come off. The man will be hatless for the rest of the game.

Free Lon Lon Milk:
Approach any cow with an empty bottle and play Epona's Song. The song will remind the cow of the pasture, and will give Link free milk.

Ocarina flats and sharps:
Hold R and press one of the Ocarina playing buttons to make a sharp note, or Z to make a flat.

Fix a broken sign:
After slashing a sign and breaking it, play Zelda's Lulluby while standing in front of the pieces.

Chicken attack:
As in previous games in the series, if Link approaches a chicken and hurts it in some way, it will call for others to attack. The attack can be stopped by entering door or leaving the area.

No extra Iron Boot weight:
When in the Shadow Temple, use the Iron Boots when near the fans. The fans will blow Link back without the extra weight of the boots.

Goron attack:
Approach the giant rolling Goron on the second floor of Goron City, and repeatedly bomb him. After approximately the tenth bomb, he will scream and all of the other Gorons will rush out of their hiding places to attack Link. The Goron's will not chase Link if he enters another area.

Finding the Goron Bracelet:
Enter Goron City. Go to the bottom floor with the statue and stand on the carpet. Play Zelda's Lullaby to open the door. Once inside, stand in front of big brother (the Big Goron), and play Saria's Song. He will then dance. After he stops dancing, he will compliment the tune that you played and present you with the Goron Bracelet.

Avoid skeletons while in Hyrule Field:
The skeletons in Hyrule Field will not chase Link if he wears the bunny hood, or walks on dirt trails for softer footsteps.

Get into Hyrule Gate without climbing:
To get in to Hyrule Gate without climbing the gate, talk to the guard until asks for 10 rupees to allow you to enter. It is better to do this at night.

Play sword as though it were an ocarina:
Set a not-so-useful item to C-Down, such as Zelda's letter or a bottle bug. Walk up to a large cliff and jump off. Press C-Down + B just as Link lands. If done correctly, Link will be holding his sword next to his mouth, and it can be played as it were an ocarina. The notes will be strange, and you cannot use the different songs as though it were an actual ocarina.

Running man in Gerudo Valley:
The running man will always beat you by one second no matter how fast you run.

Combo swings:
Press the D-pad in all directions while swinging your sword. Your opponents will not be able to get a hit most of the time.

Multiply bugs:
Capture or buy a bug, then dump them on the ground. Three of them should appear. Use the same jar to capture the first bug. Bring out another jar and catch one of the other bugs that are on the ground. Repeat to multiply the number of bugs that have been captured. This is useful when hunting the Gold Skulltulas in the soft soil.

Getting Biggoron's Sword:
Use the following long trading sequence as an adult to get Biggoron's Sword. Go to the lady that gave young Link the empty bottle, when her Cuccos were rescued. She will give Link a Pocket Cucco egg. Wait for the egg to hatch, then bring it to Talon in Kakariko Village. Bring the Cucco back to the lady, to receive Cojiro, the Blue Cucco. Go to the Lost Woods, then turn right at the entrance. Give Cojiro to the man to receive an Odd Mushroom, which will spoil if too much time is wasted. Rush to the Potion shop in Kakariko Village, then go left into the room. Run into the shop to the right, then give the Mushroom to the lady at that location. She will give Link an Odd Potion. Hurry back to the Lost Woods. The man will be gone, but a Kokiri will be here. Give the Potion to her to receive the Poacher's Saw. Ride the horse to Gerudo Valley. There is a broken bridge here, so whip Epona to jump it. Give the saw to the carpenter that is outside to receive Biggoron's Broken Sword. Go to the top of Death Mountain, then walk to the right. Biggoron will appear, rubbing his eyes. He has an eye infection and will give link a Prescription. Bring the Prescription to King Zora after he has been unfrozen to receive the Eyeball frog, an ingredient for the Eyedrops. Hurry to the Lakeside Laboratory at Lake Hylia and give the Eyeball Frog to the Old Man. He will give Link the Eyedrops. Hurry back up to the Death Mountain Summit and ive the Eyedrops to Biggoron. After using them, he will give Link a Claim Check. Wait three days (play the Sun's Song six times to quickly pass the time), give him back the Claim Check to receive Biggoron's Sword. This weapon is twice as powerful as the Master Sword, and will not break like the Giant's Knife. Note: If Link is late during any of the time-sensitive parts of the trade, the game will restart back at the person you need to give the item to, and allow another try. Ocarina songs may not be used to teleport to a location during the trade.

When you are getting Biggoron's sword and you are timed (as when giving the eyedrops to Biggoron), instead of running all the way up Death Mountain, you can save and reset the game. You will have the eyedrops but you will not be timed.

Coming down from Death Mountain:
Talk to Capoera Gobera (the owl) when at the top of Death Mountain as a child. He will take you down the mountain.

The Fifth Bottle:
Get Biggoron's sword with the claim check. Go to a Fairy fountain as an adult with an empty bottle. Swing the bottle, and pause the game half way through the swing. Place the claim check in the same spot as the bottle. The claim check with become, a fifth bottle. It may take a few tries, but when you get out the claim check, pressing the C button that it is on may help.

The Sixth Bottle:
There is a sixth bottle that can be obtained. Do the same thing as when getting the Biggoron sword, but as a child. You have to use the mask of truth.

Gossip Stone blast off:
Drop a bomb near a Gossip Stone. It will begin blinking blue and blast off into space. If the stone hits anything, it will explode like a bomb.

Drop a bomb near a Gossip Stone and wait for it to explode. The stone will start blinking blue, blue, blue, red before launching. Hit the stone while it is blue to keep it at that color. To keep it red, wait until it flashes blue three times, then press B to hit it while it is gray.

Stretching a Gossip Stone:
Hit a Gossip Stone with the Megaton Hammer. Alternatively, stand in front of a Gossip Stone and use Din's Fire.

Malon's obstacle course:
Return to Lon Lon Ranch after getting Talon to go back home (by waking him up with the Cucco the girl in Kakariko Village gives Link). Complete Malon's obstacle course at as an adult (talk to her while on Epona) in under fifty seconds. If successful, she'll give Link a cow! It will be at his house in Kokiri Forest. Use it to get Lon Lon Milk by playing Epona's Song in front of the cow.

Free Fairies:
Play Zelda's Lullaby in front of a Gossip Stone and they will give you a free Fairy. Play the Song of Storms in front of a Gossip Stone and it will give you a Big Fairy. Get a butterfly to land on a Deku stick and it will turn into a Fairy. Slowly walk towards the butterfly with a Deku Stick out; this requires patience. Play the Song of Storms near a soft patch of soil with a Magic Bean planted. It will grow and produce three regular Fairies.

Ending bonus:
Successfully complete the game and wait at the "The End" screen. Eventually, the Scarecrow's Song will begin playing with different instruments.

Extra challenge:
To add to the challenge of completing the game, try skipping almost all of the heart-extending power-ups gained from defeating the Bosses. For example, you may want to win and save a game where you have beaten Gannon with a life meter with a maximum capacity of five hearts. For a very serious challenge, try completing the game without picking up any life-extending heart containers.

Exploring the underwater cave in Zora's Domain :
Enter Zora's Domain as a child. Go up to the Zora that offers the diving game for twenty rupees. Talk to him and play the game. After diving in the water swim to the right, to the ladder. Climb the ladder and wait for the diving game timer to run out. When it reaches one, jump off. If Link is in the air when time runs out, he will hit the water and sink to the bottom. After reaching the bottom, he can swim into the little cave (which is empty).

Keep Fire Room pathway from sinking:
The main pathway in the Fire Room of Ganon's Castle can be kept from sinking. Equip the Hover Boots and instead of jumping onto the main pathway, roll onto it. You will hover over it, then come down onto it. The main pathway will not sink. To keep it in this state, keep the Hover Boots equipped and always roll onto the to the main pathway when returning.

Deku Nut upgrade:
When Link is running through the Lost Woods, he will find two boulders. One boulder will be near the beginning of the maze and the other will be near the end. Go after the boulder near the end, and bomb or hammer it. Fall into the hole that appears to find 2 Deku business scrubs. Defeat the first scrub and he will allow Link to carry up to 30 Deku nuts.

Carry up to 20 Deku Sticks:
As Link enters the Lost Woods from the Kokiri Forest as a child, go through the tunnel to the left. Link will be in the room with the skeleton. Then, take a left. A Deku Shrub will begin shooting at Link as he walks under the bridge. Defeat him to gain the ability to hold twenty Deku Sticks.

Save Deku Sticks:
You do not have to let a Deku Stick burn out after setting it on fire. Put it away before it burns out by selecting another weapon that you have ready to use. For example, if you have a burning stick that is equipped with C-Right, press C-Down or C-Left button before it burns out to get that weapon and put the stick away. This will save that stick from burning out and allow you to have the same amount of sticks.

Skulltula prizes:
Visit the Skulltula house in the Kakario village after collecting every ten Gold Skulltulas to collect some valuable prizes.

Number of Skulltula Tokens Prize for that amount
10 Skulltulas Adult's Wallet (holds 200 rupees)
20 Skulltulas Stone of Agony (find hidden holes)
30 Skulltulas Giant's Wallet (holds 500 rupees)
40 Skulltulas Bombchu
50 Skulltulas Piece of Heart
100 Skulltulas Huge rupee
Hunt only at night because that is the time that the Gold Skulltulas appear. Some appear while Link is a child and some appear while he is an adult. A few appear during both these times. The Skulltulas like dirt patches, where the magic beans may be planted. Use a bottle of bugs to surface the spiders. Nine of the ten spots contain a Skulltula. Some like to hide in trees, so check them with a roll attack. It is wise to check most trees because most all of them have a good prize such as bombs or rupees if not a gold Skulltula. The Skulltulas can be in slingshot range many times, but require a boomerang to retrieve the token. They also love to hide in crates, so use the roll attack to break them.

Do not use shops:
Most items needed in the quest will be free, making it unnecessary to buy things at the shops. For example, the shops charge 200 rupees for a fish, but Link can fish at Lake Hylia for only 20 rupees and almost always catch a fish at that location.

After hours shopping:
Try this trick if you have completed the game and want to try something new. Enter a shop that has a door (and not one that can be simply walked in). Play the Sun's Song and to be inside the store at night, when it would normally open in the morning.

Easy way past the Gerudo:
To knock out a Gerudo thief, simply shoot her with an arrow. To freeze her, use the hookshot or longshot.

Fighting the Aqua Cell guard:
In Gerudo Valley, while fighting the guard that patrols the Aqua Cell, Enter the prison next to the cell. Link can hit her but can not be hit back from this location.

Getting Fire and Ice arrows:
After completing the water temple, go to Lake Hylia. Play the Sun Song at plaque near the warp point (serenade of water) to make the sun rise. As soon as this happens, shoot the sun with an arrow and fire arrows will appear. To get ice arrows, complete the Gerudo training center.

Link's earring:
An earring can be seen in Link's left ear at the end of the game during the close-up, when Zelda and Link are talking in the sky.

Epona's butt:
Once you have Epona as an adult, go to Lon Lon Ranch. Go to the far big fence and jump it to exit the ranch. Once you land, you will be looking directly at Epona's butt.

Pushed by Epona:
Go to Lon Lon Ranch as a child. Stand in front of Epona and play Epona's Song. She will push you across the ranch.

Epona whines:
Ride Epona, take out an arrow, then hold Analog-stick Down so the tip of the bow is on her neck. Fire to hear Epona whine.

Bowser necklace:
Look down at Talon when he is sleeping outside of the castle. A necklace that resembles Bowser can be seen around his neck.

Getting additional bottles:
Go to Zora's Domain as a child and use an empty bottle to catch a fish. Then, quickly replace the bottle to any item you want to turn into a bottle before you get the fish and that item will turn into a bottle. You can do this with any item. If the trick fails, just release the fish and try it again.

Mad guard:
Go to the castle courtyard as a child where you first met Zelda. After passing the guards, go to the room where Zelda is standing. Facing Zelda, from the entrance, go over to the window at the left from the entrance. With the Fairy Slingshot, shoot a few Deku Seeds at that window and one of the King's guards will stick his head out of the window. He will say " Hey, you, stop making noise out there!". After that he will throw a lit bomb in your direction and disappear. Run if you are low on health. Note: This trick cannot be done if you have gotten the Gorons' Ruby, and can only be done once.

Walk on castle gate:
Go to the castle gate in the morning as a child. There will be a chain on both ends of the gate to pull it up at night. Walk all the way up to the top without falling off. You could also get some rupees by jumping off to the opposite side from where you are standing.

Swing Megaton Hammer like a sword:
As an adult, equip the Megaton Hammer to one of the "C" buttons. Hold Z, then hold Analog-stick Left or Right to begin walking sideways. Press the "C" button that corresponds to the megaton hammer. Link will swing it sideways as if it were a sword. This may be a faster way of swinging the hammer repeatedly. You may want to try it on Volvagia.

Target practice on a Flying Tektite:
Go to Lake Hylia, then take the Megaton Hammer out and pound it on the ground to make the Tektite flip upside down. Note: The Tektite has to be on the water. Then, stun it with your Hookshot. When it is no longer stunned you will see it flying into the air. Use your bow to shoot it and the Tektite will fall on the ground. If you do this without the bow it will look funny to see it flying into the air.

Free Hylian Shield:
Instead of paying 40 to 80 rupees for a shield, go to the graveyard at night. Go to the first row of graves in front of Link. Go to the second grave in that row and pull it all they way back. This will not work during day because the kid will threaten to tell Dampe. Jump in the newly opened hole. Go up to the chest and open it to get a free Hylian Shield.

Hit Link with boulders:
When going up Death Mountain to see the first Great Fairy, equip the Kokori Shield. When the boulders start falling, pause the game and equip the Hylian Shield. Press Start and hold R. When Link appears again, he will be equipped with the Hylian Shield, but will not be bent over. Instead he squats down, as if he is holding the Kokori Shield. When the boulders come down, they will hit Link, but they will bounce off as if they were hitting the Hylian Shield.

Squatting Link:
Warp to the Lost Woods as an adult. Kill the Moblins that stand in your way to get to the ladder that takes you to the Fairy Fountain. Climb the ladder, and go down the hole to the fountain. Walk towards the square that takes you back to the woods one step at a time. It is crucial that you move slowly, step by step. If you did not go too far and warp out, it will appear that Link is squatting. Try this trick with various tunics.

Diving Link:
After entering Zora's Domain as an Adult, go to the top of the waterfall where as a child you received the Silver Scale. Jump off and Link will dive into the ice. Note: This only works once, so do not save.

Giant Leever:
Leevers are the spinning cactii monsters that attack Link in the later part of the Haunted Wasteland and the Desert Colossus. Get to the Desert Colossus as adult Link with Giant's Knife or Biggoron Sword, and lots of health, potions, or Neyru's Love. Activate Neyru's Love (if available), and attack at the approaching Leevers. Although any weapon can be used, the Giant's Knife or Biggoron Sword are the best choices. After a dozen or so small green Leevers have been killed, a giant purple Leever will attack. It takes about four hits with the Biggoron Sword to kill it, and Link will get either two red or two blue rupees as a reward. There are about four at the Desert Colossus. After they are killed, the little Leevers will not appear until Link re-enters the stage/room.

Purple Cuccos:
Go to Bombchu Bowling Alley, play, and win. Do not play again. Press C-Up and look at the Cuccos to see a little purple in the feathers.

Finding the royal family tomb:
Go to the Kakariko Village graveyard in the daytime as a child. Then, go to the hill in the back with the large grave stone. Stand on the Hylian Seal (the Triforce) that is etched in the ground. Play Zelda's Lullaby on the Fairy Ocarina. Lightning will flash and the grave stone will explode, leaving a hole that is entrance to the royal family tomb.

Finding the Forest stage:
To find the Forest Stage, go to the Lost Woods and go right, left, right, left, and left. Pass the Business Scrubs to reach the grassy area. Go to where the butterflies are flying and search there to find and fall into a hidden hole. Wear any mask down in that location to get different items. If Link gets shot by nuts, exit, then go back down for another result.

Fly over Kakariko Village:
As and adult, get the Longshot and go on top of a roof in Kakariko village that is near the windmill. When looking through the first person view with the Longshot, you can see a small stake in the opening. Use your Longshot to hook it and pull yourself inside the windmill. Go up the stairs to find a chicken. Pick it up and jump out the window with it. You are now flying over Kakariko village. After some practice, you should be able to fly right out of town.

Heart piece in Kakariko village:
When you get a Longshot, you can get on the roof of Granny's potion shop. An easier way is to go to the windmill with the fence in front of it. Get on the section right in front of the door. Now the roof is accessible by a Hookshot.

There is an easy way to get this Heart piece as a child. Climb on the lookout tower and go as far forward as you can. Use Z Targeting (you will not actually target anything) and run to the left side of the tower, while still facing forward. Keep running and the Action Button should turn to "Jump". Press A and to hang off of the big fence near the house. Climb on to it, then jump up to the roof of the house. Talk to the man, and he will give you the Piece of Heart.

Never get lost in the Lost Woods:
Try this trick to avoid all of those exit portals in the Lost Woods (the giant log tunnels that warp Link back out). First, fire child Link's slingshot or boomerang (or Long Shot if playing as an adult) into an exit portal. If it is an exit portal (a dead end), you will hear your projectile ricochet off something solid. Or, to save ammunition, just turn up the brightness on your screen and look at the color of the portal. All of the plain black portals are "safe" and will not warp you back out of the Lost Woods.

Glitch: Fall through the ground at the entrance to Hyrule Market:
Become a kid, then play the Sun's Song to make it day. Go to Hyrule Field, and climb up the ropes to the top at the drawbridge. Play the Sun's Song to make it night. Once the drawbridge has fully gone up; jump down inside the entrance to Hyrule Market. If done correctly; you should have gone right through the ground and ended up in Hyrule Market.
